First song with Noraa Ish and Kid Pistol

To celebrate the "Love, Fear and Loathing" video we decided to throw a release party at my place. Kid Pistol noticed I had a piano and asked me to play something. I hadn't played much recently and was pretty rusty, but I thought to myself what the hell. I played a song I wrote on the piano about a year before. Kid Pistol sat down listening to me play and just started singing a melody as if he had sung it a thousand times before. I was amazed by this! Just moments after Kid started singing Noraa Ish came in from the backyard, stood behind me and started rapping like the words had been written in his soul long ago.  This was one of the most amazing experiences I had ever witnessed and it caused a deep musical chain reaction between us that continues until this day. You might wonder to yourself what song that might have been? Oh yeah, uh huh,  it was "Going Down" and that was how that song came into existence. Take a listen!!!

Love, Fear & Loathing

Album Art done by Kristin Williamson

In August of 2011, I was browsing the web and by accident stumbled across some serious musical talent. At the time Kid Pistol, a producer/artist from Portland Oregon had dropped a new album called 21 Reprise. This album featured Noraa Ish,  an extraordinary rapper also from Portland Oregon. Frankly I was blown away by the songs on that album. Each song was a remix of songs from the 21 Album by Adele, transformed into a Hip Hop masterpiece. At the time that album was released I was into shooting and editing video. After listening to their music I realized how cool it would be to shoot a music video with these guys. Long story short, I contacted Noraa Ish & Kid Pistol and proposed that we work together on a music video and they accepted. My video camera was really designed for home video and was not even close to professional standards by any means. I knew I might risk embarrassing myself by showing up with it but for some reason I felt that I needed to do it. I did not know what to expect when I got to the video shoot but I soon found out that they had every scene planned out and already had memorized their parts. Right off the bat I knew these guys were professional and committed to their music. The three of us spent two days of shooting and another three days of editing with no sleep. There was definitely a great energy between us that kept us all going. Once the video "Love, Fear & Loathing" was finished we posted the video on YouTube and it very quickly grabbed over 75,000 views.  The "Love, Fear & Loathing" video also started spreading like wild fire to many websites and online blogs. The video is pretty damn good considering it was shot with a home video camera. Passion and determination go a long way.
